Restoration of the school garden

Considering the state of our school which has been reconstructed for the past two years with the goal of building a new, better equipped school in the same area, we had to find a different place to finish this project. We decided to do the work in the primary school Pojišan, which is one of our host schools during the reconstruction period. The aim was to create a better garden space which will benefit the students of both schools.

Completed activities.

We cleaned out the area which wasn’t usable for the local students due to safety concerns as the benches were broken and pieces of wood were lying around all over the garden. We bought the necessary materials (wood, nails, paint…) to reconstruct the benches and give them a fresh coat of paint. We planted decorative flowers and plants in existing empty plant pots and removed weeds from all the surrounding areas.

Public presentation of Project activities

We made a presentation to showcase the completed project and all the activities completed over the last two years. Our students, teachers, members of the local government, members of our Tourist board and staff from the Nature Park Marjan were invited.

Opening of the new garden

The official day of Primary school Pojišan was celebrated by opening the redecorated garden to the visitors. Our students contributed to the event by making refreshments and preparing food which was served to guests: Students, parents, teachers and staff of both schools.
